>Supposed to be a part of microsoft visual studio 2000? I'm trying to follow "Beginning C# Databases From Novice to Professional" from James Huddleston and my compiler gives errors when I try System.Data.Odbc like Odbc namespace doesn't exist. I'm thinking about getting the 2005 IDE Professional.

The .Net framework data provider for Odbc is not included with VS 2000 (framework 1.0). You must download and install it from the msdn download site.
