No it's not being sent all the time.

The ORB program that runs on your home computer acts as the 'server'. When you log into the ORB 'server', a nice webpage comes up, lets you pick which TV channel you want to watch, or which of the vidoes/music you have stored on the machine you want to watch. At that time, when you select which TV show to watch, THEN the streaming begins. When you quit watching it, the stream stops.
