I have seen a product that I think is called "Swing" (available at Best Buy or any PC hardware). This connects to your home cable just before your cable modem. Then it connects to your router IP port. You install software onto your remote PC that then allows you to connect to your home cable and now you can watch any cable station that you have cable access to on the remote PC. It has a security password to prevent others from getting your feed.

A friend of mine had shown it to me at the beginning of this year -- he had it on his laptop. The picture quality is reasonable. The price I think was around $250.
