I agree. Like I said, I would not like him to go with something too basic.
He is very quick to learn but I did not discourage him because I really don't know what else he can do out of the military w/out a college degree.
I have looked some of the government offices who require a clearance, and even though this certification is very basic, I think it may get him a foot on the door.
Industry recognized certification would be something ideal as you suggest here.
I guess I need to start looking into that so I can pass him that info
>A+, to me, is kind of an entry level certification. I don't mean it is an easy or worthless certification (I don't have it, as I went the software route). I would think that he would get a lot of value out of possessing an industry recognized certificaton like A+, seeing as you didn't mention a college degree. I would advise though to not stop there. The sky is the limit with somebody who is willing to learn.
