At this point, that's really why people drive hybrids as they actually cost more money over the life of the car. However, as gas prices increase the economics of the purchase will have more weight in the buying decision.
>OTOH, some people (like my son) drive a hybrid as a matter of principle. I think the next few cars we buy (a new one for Marshal soon and eventually one for Nathaniel) will be hybrids, too.
