I'm with you, Sam. I like the payment-free period afterwards and run it as long as practical. My former 1991 Caprice Classic ran for nearly 14 years before maintenance was getting to be too frequent/expensive. It had not a speck of rust, and that's really saying someting for these parts.

>>One of my biggest problems with hybrids is that most of them are so UGLY. Prius? YUCK! Ford has some that at least look good, but after owning two Fords that were both junk, I'll never own another one again.

>>>I read two reports, one 2 or 3 years ago and the other one not long ago, like 6 months or less. Although the first one agreed with your's and Craig's POV, the second one showed that some hybrids were actually cheaper in the long run. They compared the same vehicle in both versions where possible, for example Honda Civic hybrid and gas (4 or 5 pairs of cars was the article), I will try to find it.

>>>I was shopping for a car last month, and one thing not mentioned here, maybe for it is only applicable here (or the salesman was a liar, what a surprise <g>) is that insurance was cheaper for the Honda Civic Hybrid compared to the regular Civic.
