Thanks for replying Jerry. The problem is that the GATHER is in my frameWork hence used for all adds of all tables. I will have to identify all fields that are of type autoIncrement and not gather any of them. I have only recently started using autoIncrements in vfp. I will give that a try and get back. Thanks
