The longest term owner of the house I lived in in Chicago was a Chicago cop who fancied himself a handyman. The only problem, which I discovered only gradually, was he screwed almost everything up. After we moved in some of the neighbors would say things like, "That Ronnie, he was always working around the house." He should have taken more days off....
