Well Hilmar, maybe you can help me with this issue before I read your article. Thanks for your response. I've create the html page using a variety of editors including Word, WordPerfect, and CoffeeCup (my favorite). The line that comes out of Word referencing the picture is
<v:imagedata src="HighwayTools_files/image001.png" o:title="HWYEDIT"/></v:shape>
The picture is visible when the page is viewed with IE. The HELP compiler doesn't choke, and the folder created by the compiler for the page has both a JPG amd a PNG file containing the picture. The original picture is a BMP. However when I open the finished CHM help file, I see only an empty box where the picture should be. So I must be doing something wrong, but what?
