Your system default .JPG handler may have changed. Check by double-clicking on a .JPG in Windows Explorer.
Because of OLE issues like this, and .FPT bloat storing photos in this fashion (actually, storing anything in GENERAL fields) is no longer recommended. For photos, keep the .JPG separate and just store a file name in a table.
