>Banning liquids from airplanes is indeed ridiculous because there is not way to ban everything in carryon or stored luggage and make the flight 'safe.' Especially when you consider the possibility of sympathizers working for an airplane.
>However, it makes sense if not all of the conspirators were apprehended and a threat by the same group still exists - especially if they do not know the exact date or if it is still planned and will occur. It will at least thrwart the original plans by this group, but then I'm sure they had a backup plan as well...

Thats the problem isn't it. The terrorists have already acheived their goals in this mission and no one died or was even injured. The public are scared (terrorized) and the airline and related businesses will incur millions, if not billions, of dollars in lost revenue.

But I think one cannot take anything away from the success of the security forces and agencies in preventing this attack. btw, how come no one is jumping up and down about human rights violations by the attackers (and their backers) for targetting civilians?
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends - Martin Luther King, Jr.
