I agree completely. I got accustomed to dual monitors at work and now I cannot live without 2 monitors when developing...

>>Here at work still using HW from 5 years ago (will update this week to AMD64 X2 4600+ - still single monitor though:) At home no space for second:(

>Our last 6 office Machines were also AMD's, (all of them AMD64 and two of those X2's) and they were the best HW back then and I reccomended them often. But those new Intel Core2 chips sound even more competitive actually - any special reason for you not to wait the few weeks for those ? I am waiting for the price of 2 GB DDR2 DIMM's to fall a bit, as the new Motherboards will accept RAM up to 8 GB and all that new stuff perhaps will need some seasoning.

My home machine is also still an old XP, but has 3 Gig of RAM , 3 large HD's and 2 monitors - and is not too slow compared to the shiny new AMD64 machines, as much of the disk work is delegated to RAM. But screen space helps save a lot of development time, as I dont have to click too often to get the next important window on top. REALLY reccommended, even if you are not always on the "bleeding edge".
