That is not the type of teacher I like! Too bad.

>When I was taking high school chemistry the world book encylopedia said there were 105 elements in the periodic table while my teacher (and textbook) indicated there were 103. Well I answered 105 on a test and was marked wrong, and the teacher would not budge even after I showed him the evidence. I wonder how many kids answered 12 to the number of planets question and got it wrong.

>>>Looks like the rules change by the International Astronomical Union might redefine Sedna as a planet after all (along with keeping Pluto and adding a few more Kuiper Belt objects).

>>My grandfather was born in 1890, and received an Encyclopedia that was printed in 1889. At that time there were six planets that were acknowledged to exist. The book also stated that there was once a planet called Vulcan, which was between Mercury and the Sun, and was pulled into the Sun and thus no longer exists. Thoughts of Mr. Spock and Star Trek! :)
