Megapixel is a trick. 3 megapixel is enough for you. And some cameras advertised at 6MP but you should look for efective MP. What's the efective MP? Your camera might support 6 MP, but your camera's lens cannot support 6 MB.
Another thing. Don't care with digital zoom. I have a JVC video camera and I never used it's digital zoom.

My friend has a Canon IXUS 40 model. It's a 4 MP camera and it's photos more nice from a lot of 6 MP cameras.
