I never use Ctrl-W to close things (except memo windows), but I just tried it for fun and crashed my VFP session. I had several threads of conversation on Compuserve about the fact that when I use the class browser, sooner or later, (generally after between 10 and 15 activites of any kind, it will perform an illegal activity and shut VFP down). I did everything that was advised. I no longer run Groupwise while I am working in VFP (VFP and Groupwise don't get along at all). I installed SP3 and upgraded to build 415. It helped. The crash doesn't happen as often, but it still happens. I believe it is environmentally related. I suspect that most of the people who live in the Class Browser are operating on NT Workstation. My company's computers are running Windows95 and I don't think it provides as stable an environment for VFP. I, like David, do most of my work from the Project manager.

The Component Gallery is a new feature provided with VFP6. It is a wonderful tool that has catalogues in which you can organize almost anything, not just classes. But I have little hope for it being any more stable than the Class Browser. I keep hoping that the next release of NT will be user friendly enough that our network guy will replace Windows95 with it.

I am somewhat consoled that this many people are experiencing similar difficulties. Misery loves company.
