>The "Mars hoax" seems to be in wide circulation.

>Mars is claimed to become the size of the of the full moon! Somewhere around Aug. 27.
>
>The facts are, Mars will be close to its poorest visibility on that date. And, it will never become the size of the full moon - unless there is a drastic (and catastrophic) change in the current configuration.

>http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2005/07jul_marshoax.htm (from 2005, but still relevant)I received two this week. I do not understand the idiocy of the senders. Not only because they do not read or comprehend what they are sending (these two where from people known to me, not spam-bots) but for the lack of critical thinking. You do not need to know much about astronomy and just a little physics to realize that if Mars ever shows at the same size as the moon something is very wrong!
If interested, I have a used bridge I can sell at a very low price.
