FWIW, what I do now is run the App locally. (With the default left on the local drive). When the program fires up it looks for the core network system based on an .ini setting. The minimum path to the network is appended to the Foxpro path.
SO the network set-up looks like...
K:\MYAPP
   ->\DATA     
   ->\RPTS
   ->\INSTALL
I think it was Doug Hennings work that I based the scheme on.
This way, I manually set up the network (which I control remotely via Citrix NT) and the users simply install from the \MYAPP\INSTALL to set up their workstation. Executables automatically update themselves from the MYAPP folder since all that is installed on the client (initially) is a shell executable which checks for more recent versions in \MYAPP
