Should my project expect CDO.Message and CDO.Message.Configuration on all XP desktops.
I have learned they might be installed but not offer:
CDO.Message.Configuration.Fields(13).Value (user's email)
CDO.Message.Configuration.Fields(15).Value (SMTP Server name)
Is it possible that these objects could be installed but a firewall would prevent my program from looking at them or return garbage if it did get a value?
At this point I only need an email address and a user name. I use the CDO for the email and WNetGetUser in Win32API to get the use name.
Do anti-intrusion systems protect these guys? Is there a less sensitive - more "obvious" way to get the email and user name from the desktop?
Thanks
