>>>Do you ever wonder we do any of this? It’s all just for money to support our lives. Almost everyone everywhere is simply doing crap they don’t like, don’t care about, and doesn’t do a damn thing for anyone. We work simply because we have to. From the largest companies, to the lowest paid individual, we are all just part of a big, rolling machine that slowly moves on, inch-by-inch, penny-by-penny. There’s one guy in India who doesn’t have to work and has everything he needs or desires. His name’s Fred, I think.

>>What you saying CL? we should all just slit open our bellies in a collective suppuku (not a number puzzle)?
>>Your company might be pointless - getting "benefits" to executives. Most jobs are created due to inventions of things we need or don't need, but are nice to have. I suppose in my job I'm a typical "non-producer" (like most the western world) but my work involves transport planning (mainly buses) and pensioner concessions. Without buses I wouldn't have this job; do we need busses? Maybe it's a measure of how useful/necessary/beneficial to society your job is that determines your feeling of pointlessness. But, yes, it's mainly just make-work that we do. :-)

>I'm not a religious person by nature, but I can see why others are. It all seems pointless if you step back and look at it. Or maybe if you look closer. One of those. I do what I do in order to maintain a quality of life for myself and those I care about. But what about all the things beyond that? Why is it that the things we have to do seem to be the things we least like to do? I'm sure there are some who gain something personally worthwhile other than a paycheck out of their jobs, but I have to believe that the percentage is low. Why does basic life have to be this way? Is that the answer? The very fact that we need to survive dictates the jobs that are needed for everyone to survive?

Aw quit skriking! It beats chasing antelope all day and chucking spears at them, or, if you're a woman, sitting outside the hut pounding rice. You're just sore cos you can't get the interesting URLs on your 'puter :-)
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
