Set "don't optimize columns width" in MySql driver options

>I have a strange view problem. I've built a very simple updatable view on a single table. I'm using a single view parameter for the key field. The first query goes fine and it pulls the record no problem. However when I change my view parameter and issue a 'REQUERY()' I get an error message saying 'view definition has changed'. I've tried closing all the tables and the view and reopening the view. I have even rebuilt the view several times but I still run into the same problem. It must have something to do with the backend being a MySQL database because I have no problem using this view with native VFP tables or with MySQL.
