Can you at least see the rectangle of the image? Maybe, in Tools->Options - View Tab, you have "Picture placeholders" checkbox set. Maybe you accidentally hit one of the Word arcane keyboard combos for this?

>Hi all,
>MS Word has decided I needed some variety in my life. One day recently Word stopped displaying images I have inserted into documents. I see them in Print Preview and printing, but I can't see newly inserted images or images in previously existing documents. I assume that I somehow touched something without noticing and I can't find the magic setting to save my life.
