Hmmm... that must be something custom that DLL is doing because the stock GDI+ viewer can't do that. But then again animated gifs are just a bunch of gifs in a single file with a header that says how long to play each. Nothing stopping a utility from going in and manually animating images.

My impression of this came from the tools that I've used before to create them none of which supported transparency in the animated images...
