Hey folks,


I have an app that I'm working on that is acting kinda weird, and I
thought that you kind folks could give me a hand. Basically,
I have a VFP app that is updating a local (to each client) database
and a MySQL database(server) that is shared by all clients.


Anywho, I created a timer event on the main form to update the MySQL
database every 30 seconds. When the app does the update, the mouse
pointer changes to the commonly used hour glass "busy pointer" and
doesn't change back unless you move the mouse. Personally, I don't
want the busy pointer to show up at all if a background update is
being done, and I'm positive that the end-users are going to complain.


Now, if that's not irretating enough :^), a have another problem
that's driving me bonkers :^). While the background update to the
MySQL database is happening, sometimes various listbox and comboxes
on the main form will lose their values (blank out), as if their
record source had been changed on the fly. This is an intermittent
event, however, and -- AHEM! -- _most_ of the time this doesn't
happen. Definate hair puller :^).
