I think Once Upon A Time in the West had one of the best opening scenes ever. I have to admit though that one of the Blade movies (can't remember which one) stands out as well for having a great opening scene. One of the strangest movies ever is the black and white movie 'The Bad Seed' about a young girl who is evil. I still remember her standing out on the pier. It had been out over 10 years I think when I saw it and it scared the you know what out of me. One of the most surprising (and yet not so surprising) scenes was the ring falling on the floor at the end of The Sixth Sense. You knew that was how it was going to go but yet you were still surprised. Everyone in the audience gasped. That was a great scene.
