I have just been asked to write a program that will incorporate data from a hand scanner. We have some earlier dBase programs that do so, simply using "READ" commands.

Is there any particular method for doing such input with VFP? The data would be used in a lookup and the results displayed on a form, and then would expect more input from the scanner.

I'm assuming (without looking too deeply) that I would use the InteractiveChange event to trigger the lookup, but I'm hoping the text box can be protected from keyboard input.
