What would your thoughts be on :
Creating a Winsock based Client Server application that runs over a VPN. The client would talk to the Winsock Server application which would be on the same side of the firewall as the SQL Server. The Winsock Server App would then ODBC to SQL Server and would then pass the results back to the Winsock client. I think the application would need to be limited to small amounts of data.


Do you think this could fly, or maybe use MSMQ as opposed to winsock ?
