Have you seen the Redux version? Adds a whole new level to the movie:
- they come across a french banana plantation that is run by ex-commandos still trying to hang onto their piece of land and french way
- the playboy bunny helicopter runs of of gas and the bunnies have become prostitues
- the main characters steal the crazy colnel's surf board and they spend the night hiding from him
- extra scences showing that Kurtz is both human, gentle and very very crazy
