You would think this would be common sense. But I have a friend who works as part of a large organization working with real estate morgage's. His team (worked on, not responsible for) was ordered to come in and work during the weekend because most of his co-workers hard-coded a mortgage calculation that needed to be changed.


>Make sure every programmer KNOWS the wrath of god will decend on him if code is duplicated instead of put into a function/method. Take the time to formulate a sheet of coding practices anybody has to adhere to.
