Hi Terry, thanks for the reply.

>Underneath the instanciation I would use an ASP "TYPE" to assure the that the object was craeted and then return the "TYPE" definition to your browser and raise it in an alert box.

Sounds like a good idea. Do you have an example of ASP syntax for checking the type of the returned object?

>What are you doing?
The DLL function calculates insurance premiums according to various factors passed as parameters. The main insurance application (written mainly by myself) is already running as a VFP networked application with around 20 users, but the company's web site is created by a 3rd-party company who are experts in ASP, .NET, C#, etc. but know nothing about VFP.
Hence it is my job to extract the function from the main application and supply it as a .dll which can be called via. ASP. I am in the process of creating a very simple ASP to test the .dll works as it should.

>Can you install VFP on the server?
The website has the VFP runtime files are on the server, but not the development version of VFP. In my development environment I have VFP development version, and I am using IIS to run the ASP page under http://localhost/TestPage.asp.

Regards,
Alan
