Hi Rebecca (and All) ---
IMHO the new MCSD certification is a sham. The only subjects you are required to know at a reasonable degree of proficiency are VB or VC++ and this does *not* make you an adequate solution developer.
An expert VFP developer brings a lot more to the table than the equivalent skill level in VB or VC++.
And, objectively, where in the heck does this put SQL Server developers? I would trust an expert SQL Server person over an expert VB person any day of the week to engineer an enterprise solution.
If MS is going to be seen as a serious database provider, then they have to have a new cert track for VFP and SQL Server if they are unwilling to include those tools in the core of MCSD.
Maybe MCEE (Microsoft Certified Enterprise Engineer)?
