Thanks, Perry. That definitely got me going in the right direction. Still have some kinks to work out as i am doing the SSIS wizard import from another box, and it is having trouble finding the correct service on the host box, but that may be because I need to make sure that service is started first ( not the db engine, but the ssis service ) I've got something weird going on with the vfpoledb provider so have to do the import this way.

Any thoughts on how to TS a bad vfpoledb.dll? I tried unregistering, deleting, redownloading, reinstalling and reregistering ( all with SQL Engine shut down in case that matters ).

Tried searching registry for VFEOLEDB and deleting all keys I could find after the uninstall.

But in the import wizard, test connection succeeds but when I go to the step that would normally show the table to be imported I get a bad parameter error. Works fine on other box.

use the packages I'm saving. HELP says one of the options is to select IMPORT PACKAGE which is accessible from the Management Console. I'll be darned if I can find it.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot

Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
