I can speak with some authority on this as I was the guy who named it after a very productive (and fun) lunch with Ken Levy.

Technically, it's a "Plus Pack". It's possible to upgrade VFP 9 to SP1 and, later, to SP2 without going to Sedna but I can't see why one would do so.

Yes, you'll need VFP 9 to use Sedna. There won't be a boxed version.

There's already been a CTP version and - my guess - there will be a beta version.

Since Sedna is a "plus pack", of course it will support whatever legacy functions VFP 9 does. SEEK and whatever passes for @SAY will work as it already does in VFP.
