>>>Southern Lebanon was "retaken"? Are you sure about that? If this was another Israeli victory the international media on site were massively confused. None of them even noticed territory changing hands.
>>
>>I did not say or claimed any "victory". Israel left it as mandated by UN Resolution 1559 in Jan 2005. Hezbollah's military wing was suppossed to be disbanded and the Lebanese army taken control of their border. They did not. Hezbollah attacked (and kidnapped), as we all know, so Israel took Southern Lebanon back. Now Israel is leaving it as UN troops are starting to come in as per Resolution 1701.

>Now I'm really confused. You say you didn't claim any victory, but state again that Israel "took Southern Lebanon back." They invaded it but they didn't take it. Fighting was still going on when the UN ceasefire went into effect. (A ceasefire Israel has violated at least once so far).I do not understand the confusion.
See:
Message ID: 1149155"What was given back was Gaza (unilaterally) and the Sinai in exchange for peace with Egypt. Southern Lebanon was given back in Jan 2005 and retaken in a war last month as we all know. There is also the disputed Shebaa Farms territory."
I did not mention any claim of "victory" by either side. I was explaining what was given back and in exchange for what. In the case of Lebanon, because of UN Resolution 1559, broken by Lebanon by not complying with its mandate.
