I'm not sure about video drivers, but...

Microsoft has said that using any printer drivers which did not come on the CD with Win95 could cause problems. We were having crashes with our VFP-based Abra payroll application which cleared up when we stopped using HP's HP5 drivers and reverted to using MS's HP4 drivers.
