The second time I probably earned it, but when VFP came I decided to keep making my money with 2.6 until VFP came out of Beta ( with version 6 ) and Mike and Toni wrote a framework. I wasn't much help to anybody after that. ( but did get the Cadillac paid for )

Was not the first profession in which that had happened to me by any means Stuck the defrocked phrase in a long time ago and I guess I just never took it out. Meant as sort of a joke, actually, since as you know defrocking is done to a priest for unorthodoxy or malfeasance ). Probably should lose it if it is being misunderstood as anything other than self-deprecating humor.

The level of play certainly is different than what I am used to seeing. Have to say I don't think I'm likely to become a dedicated fan, unless suddenly the NFL and NBA, rugby and lacrosse ceased to exist, but it beats the heck out of baseball and curling.

>Actually, at college ( Denison ) soccer was pretty big ( and remember this was back in the 60s but of course we were up to our madras and weejuns in preppies and kids from Northside Chicago, Mainline Philly and the NE. ) Never really thought much of it then. Lacrosse was the other white-meat sport and that had a lot more violence. You gotta remember I'm from the old Ohio HS Friday Night Lights tradition

The job interview went pretty well but it doesn't look like they're going to make an offer. So in that sense I went down in flames.

I really enjoyed the World Cup as well. I wish it were more often than every four years. Of course, that's part of the appeal.

You would have to ask my daughters about the iPod-like devices ;-). If I start running again I might get one. Probably not even then, though; I still have a Rio in the "junk drawer" in the kitchen that would be sufficient for my purposes. I don't run far enough to need 10,000 songs ;-)
