Mike,

I've not installed it, and have read articles where there were screen shots. Some of the things I thought were overkill seem to have been removed from it and Office.

Nevertheless, I'm VERY WORRIED about VISTA and what it may mean for supporting VFP applications.

My first worry has to do with the multiple versions they will sell, and particularly the GUI differences between each (which seem to be the MAJOR dfferences between those versions).
Seems a strong probability that this will quadruple or quintuple testing requirements. And then what to do if something malfunctions, or even just looks bad, in one of the flavours?

My second big worry is that some new purchaser (of the product I work on) will have Vista installed on new machinery and want to use it before we are ready. Yes, I know that's the purpose (well, one of them) of "betas" but time hasn't permitted that.

My hope is that Vista get delayed for many months yet < s >.

cheers

>With RC1 having shipped and Microsoft saying it expects to RTM by the end of the year, I was wondering what the thoughts are here about Vista. Personally I have not seen it. From what I have read in the press there has been some blowback from beta testers, particularly about the new UI. One specific thing I read is that users are presented with beaucoups message boxes. Thoughts? Is this something I should be looking forward to or is it more like a 2008 migration scenario?
