>>>It looks like fun, but to be honest, it's hard for me to imagine why anybody would have created such a creature. Somebody who wants a chopper but is afraid of them?

>>At 30,000 euros - a damn sight cheaper than a chopper, a lot easier to "fly" and park.

>>There's a TV prog here, very entertaining, called "Top Gear", where they review all that's new and interesting in vehicles, and have a good laugh to boot. When they reviewed this a few years ago, the presenter who drove it, with a camera trained on his face, was whooping and wheeeeeing like a kid on his first fair ground ride. He, like the spiel on the website, compared it to flying a jet fighter. You can drop and bank and weave even on the straight, without fear of falling off. I fell in love with the concept from the start.

>Sorry Terry, 'other side of the pond' jargon problem, I guess. "Chopper" meaning a motorcycle, not a helicopter. Maybe I should have said 'hog'.

Ha ha, of course. Yes, we're aware of the term (hell, there was even an international Harly D convention in my city several years ago - you never saw so many hogs (as I understand it - Hell's Angels term for a Harley D, whereas chopper could be any bike) in one place).

No, I don't think that is the case. This is a totally different animal and sounds more thrilling (e.g. you can bank even when going straight). Besides, no need to don all that protective gear and a skid-lid. No need to get wet. I understand that the canopy can be removed, so you've even the open-air option.

In my case, although not scared of riding a bike, there IS that nagging feeling that you could come off, and your kids could be left fatherless, just for the whim of a male mid-life crisis, and this alleviates that fear. Thrills without the spills :-)
