He was probably thinking "wow man, I'm reaaaaly drunk".

Actually I read another article about the incident (I think it was on cnn.com) - seems this cop shot him because he was walking towards him after he "identifed" himself as a police officer. The other story made the whole indicent seem kinda fishy, - like there really wasn't a need to shoot the guy. If anything it sounded like the cop should of used some pepper spray or a tazer or something - and really shouldn't of been messing with him in the 1st place. Of course if you're in that situation and a guy that size is walking towards you....
