I've tried including the CLASS claus with "Paint.Picture", as this was the OLEClass for the existing .BMPS (that are still working), but when I add a new record and run the SAME code I ran before, I get the little icon and the OLEClass is shown as a "Package".

Some picture format is not yet being supported by VFP 5.0 like for instance JPG. This type can be appended into general field but captures not the real picture but an icon file instead. I doubt if the file you are trying to encapsulate into the gen field is a BITMAP file.
