Back in the days when this was running, he was the linguistic idol for a few of my pals and me. We'd greet each other with "gid miwning", and when I had a leaky tire on my bike, and had to carry a pump with me, I'd use that pump (he'd probably say pimp) for the special secret sign (lift it 2 or 3 times).

I saw the actor once as Hercul Poirot in a TV version of "Murder in Orient Express" and couldn't really take him seriously. I always expected his next sentence would be something hilarious.
