I've no objection to the Humvee, if it's chopped-off roof, armour? and general design is appropriate militarily, but it's a waste of road surface AND GAS elsewhere (and here's you asking about the fuel consumption of the Carver!) - particularly urban. In the UK we refer to 4X4s as "Chelsea Tractors" and there's a great disdain for middle-class mothers who drive their kids to school in them.

IMO the reason why these things have bull bars on them is to protect the car from the shopping trolleys that they crash into, which they wouldn't if they didn't have such monsters.

>Having driven the 'REAL' hummer in the military far too many times - it is a great vehicle and one of the nicest handling 4 wheel drives I've ever driven and I've driven alot of them. I may even have considered owningone if I still lived in the Colorado mountains and could afford it. Living in the lowlands though, there is absolutely no need for me to drive a hummer and it would be nothing but a waste of money and gas.

>>Hi Mike,
>> you are wrong on this point. I know one female a company that owns and drives a Hummer.
>> Of course, it was bought so that she could make the winter trips from up north down 2 lane, lots of curves, highways to the headquarters of the company.

>>>Have you noticed that there are apparently no female Hummer drivers? Just a lot of middle aged guys with way more money than sense or taste.
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
