I agree completely! Convoys on blacktop were a nightmare, but take it off-road and nothing beats it. I doubt if it handles as good with all the extra armor plating they've had to add for Iraq though. I wonder if any future design changes will be made to accomodate it? We see all the desert on tv but everyone forgets about the mountainous regions (not to mention the mountains and rough terrain in other areas of the world where we have maneuvers).

>>Having driven the 'REAL' hummer in the military far too many times - it is a great vehicle and one of the nicest handling 4 wheel drives I've ever driven and I've driven alot of them. I may even have considered owningone if I still lived in the Colorado mountains and could afford it. Living in the lowlands though, there is absolutely no need for me to drive a hummer and it would be nothing but a waste of money and gas.

>>>Hi Mike,
>>> you are wrong on this point. I know one female a company that owns and drives a Hummer.
>>> Of course, it was bought so that she could make the winter trips from up north down 2 lane, lots of curves, highways to the headquarters of the company.
>>>
>>>>Have you noticed that there are apparently no female Hummer drivers? Just a lot of middle aged guys with way more money than sense or taste.
