I have to agree to a point. It irks me to see hummvees driving on the road - especially city streets. Totally ridiculous and a waste of roadspace and gas. Dangerous to boot. No need for it. That is the greatest vehicle for the military though. If I had to be active military again, there is nothing else I'd rather be in. I guess if the Left Behind Series fiction ever came to be, I'd like to be in a humvee as well! :o)

In the UK we refer to 4X4s as "Chelsea Tractors" and there's a great disdain for middle-class mothers who drive their kids to school in them.
