>>>Speaking of great British comedies, there's a good one running Saturday nights (right after Rosemary & Thyme and Python remix) - "Red Dwarf". I never thought anyone would ever be able to put up a good SF comedy, but this one has me bowling of laughter.

>>Totally agree! You only just getting that. I think they did c. 6 series and they get better towards the middle series.

>>>nb. I had a dispute with one of the daughters on "But HGTTG is a comedy", where I argued that HGTTG is first and foremost a full scale SF novel, which is funny all the way, but has all the plausibility of serious SF work. It's, IMO, much more than just a comedy.

>>If you're saying this about Red Dwarf - exactly, but I don't understand what "HGTTG" is ???

>The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
Ah, but Red dwarf features some very clever SF stories, such as time travel paradoxes, the crew meeting other dimension versions of themselves, time dillation, etc. etc. - very respectable stories but FUNNY!!
