Ah, thanks, it was lost a bit in the translation. In English I would have said:

NetServerEnum only returns servers, whereas SQLDMO.ListAvailableSQLServers lists servers and services.

(Assuming that I am now understanding what you meant.)

So my next question is why am I not getting my SAMAAN3\SQLEXPRESS listed by the SQLDMO method?

Basically, what I am trying to do is if my initial SQLCONNECT() does not work I want to prompt the user for the server and database, then use that in the connection string.
