Still working on the problem I was describing in thread # 1152350. The error occurs when I'm trying to set appropriate paths in a project hook. I've figured out the apparent inconsistency had to do with what SET PATH is prior to opening the project. VFP seems to populate the search path in Tools | Options with a number of paths if you try to clear it, set as default, close and reopen vfp. These are paths to SQL server installations, dell utilities, system32, among others. I've no idea where they are coming from. I can populate the search path with C:\TEMP and it sticks between VFP sessions. But when I clear it and restart VFP, it starts up with all those unwanted paths.

I say all of the above because it seems to affect how my project hook works, which (again) is appending paths to whatever is already in SET PATH at the time. So, if the unwanted paths exist in SET PATH prior to opening the project, I get errors. If I manually clear the search path prior to opening the project, then I don't. I can't clear it from Tools | Options because when I restart VFP, these paths reappear.

I don't get it. Anyone know what's going on? I've read Hackfox and don't see any mention of this behavior. In fact, I just checked VFP7 and when I clear the path it sticks, so the behavior didn't exist when the last edition of Hackfox was written.

It's easy enough to fix now, but I'd like to know if anyone knows anything about this.
