I don't really need that field, I need a field that will be unique throught a form and that I will be able to use at design and at runtime. My current application has more than 150 forms, so I don't mind adding code to my basic set of controls, but it's out of the question to add a .cGUID for each object then manually adding the GUID.

Mario,
Maybe instead you can use sys(1271 and 1272) aolong with application.servername or some unique application you set?
PS:"but it's out of the question to add a .cGUID for each object then manually adding the GUID". It might be an option to do that with a little scx hacking code, however you shold remember to run your utility code after each form modifications (uniqueids might change).
