It depends very much on the type of application you make. We make a POS application which almost always is used in full screen mode. We asked our customers a few years ago whether anyone would complain if we stardardized on 1024*768, and the response was unanimous, everyone wanted 1024*768. So this is now the minimum requirement for our customers hardware, and we have not heard a single negative word about that.
