Lets say I would have a sub directory under the Web site which would required a basic authentication. Assuming from the .NET application that I would already have the username and password in memory. Would it there be a way from the ASPX page to redirect to one of the files under that sub directory by simulating the basic authentication? The reason I am asking this is that I still haven't found a way to protect some streaming video files. Only subscribers should be allowed to stream them. But, all the streaming servers I have seen only make reference to a meta file using a public URL. So, if the URL is public, it means anyone can just pull up the file as is and this is not good.
