What type of record locking do you use? What about buffering? As Tore mentioned, look at the reprocess setting. Do you lock the record when it is modified or only on the save? If the first, then you can check to see if it can be locked before attempting to modify and display your own message such as "Another user is currently modifying this record..." or something to that effect. Look at the VFP help topics:

Buffering Data
Programming for Shared Access
Optimizing Applications in Multiuser Environments
Managing Conflicts when Updating Data

>Hey guys,
> We have a multiuser application. whenever the users attempt to modify the same record, they get the "Attempting to lock ... Press Escape to Cancel" message. How do i get rid of this message?? I read on the msdn site that I could make changes in the tools->options->data tab.. It's rather annoying for them as they can't select any other record.. Thanx for the help..
